As the Black Caucus, our goal is to enrich the community and UF campus by bringing to the forefront issues affecting the African American community, and to help foster diversity on campus.
We represent and express the views of Black students that identify with the Democratic Party, while simultaneously trying to increase general political awareness and participation. We strive to ensure that every student, no matter their race, is able to exercise their civic rights. The goal of our caucus is plan events to help gets students involved and to provide information and support to students.
Jennifer Thelusma is the Black Caucus chair for college democrats. She is a second year political science major and history minor. She loves watching Gilmore girls, scandal, and rookie blue while she cooks up a host of different foods.
Nicole Morgan is a Communication Sciences and Disorders sophomore with a minor in Health Disparities, and is very excited to serve as a Black Caucus chair this year. She enjoys traveling, home-cooked meals, freedom, and Michelle Obama.
